Welcome to Gujarat. On arrival at Jamnagar, proceed to Dwarka, a distance of about 130 kms / 3 hours. En route visit Lakhota Lake situated in the centre of old Jamnagar. View Lakhota Fort which is located on an island in the middle of the lake. Visit the market area where you could perhaps shop for some Bandhani sarees before you drive to Dwarka - the city of Lord Krishna. Overnight stay in Dwarka.
Wake up early this morning for the Arti Darshan at Dwarkadhish Temple. You are transferred back to the hotel for breakfast. Post breakfast, take a boat ride across the sea to Bet-Dwarka and visit the temple of Lord Krishna. The island is home to 23 Shivalays, 20 Vaishnav temples, 9 Hanuman temples, 6 Devi temples and other temples. On your return, you could stop for darshan at Nageshwar Jyotirlinga and Rukmini Temple. Later in the afternoon you travel for about 130 kms / 3 hours to Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. En route pay your respects at the Harshiddha Mata Temple. On arrival at Porbandar, check into your hotel and relax. You could spend a quiet evening, relaxing at the Porbandar Chowpatty. Overnight stay in Porbandar.
Your day starts early this morning as you take a heritage walk of Porbandar city. Visit Gandhiji’s home - the Kirti Mandir, Bharat Mandir and other places of interest. Later in the morning, you travel to Somnath, a distance of about 140 kms / 3 hours, to visit the Lord Shiva Temple, one of the famous Jyotirlingas. Enjoy lunch at Somnath. Stay for evening darshan and the Light & Sound show at the Somnath temple. Veraval is the neighboring town to Somnath. En route to Veraval, visit the Bhalka Tirth, the place where Lord Krishna was mistaken for a deer and wounded by an arrow while sleeping in a deerskin. It is located at the Triveni Sangam or the confluence of three rivers. Overnight stay in Veraval.
Post breakfast this morning, you proceed to the historic city of Junagadh, a distance of about 100 kms / 2 hours. En route visit the Sasan Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in India. It is the sole home of the pure Asiatic Lions. Then onward to Junagadh, located about 65 kms from Sasan Gir. Overnight stay in Junagadh.
The morning in earmarked for local sightseeing of Junagadh. Visit the Narsinh Mehta Temple, Damodar Kund, Ashoka Shilalekh - an edict of Emperor Ashoka inscribed on a rock dating back to about 300 BC, and other places of interest. Later in the afternoon you set off for Palitana, a major pilgrimage centre for Jains, a distance of about 250 kms / 5 hours. Overnight stay in Palitana or Bhavnagar.
Early this morning, visit the Jain Temples on Shatrunjay Hills. The hills are home to about 1300 temples, exquisitely carved in marble. The main temple is dedicated to the 1st Tirthankar Lord Adinath. These temples are a sacred pilgrimage place for the Jain community. Later in the afternoon, you travel about 240 kms / 5 hours to reach Ahmedabad airport or railway station for your onward journey.
